What it costs, and what it never will.

Four numbers, each set against published rates for equivalent services rather than picked. A proof you have to pay us to check is not a proof.

status

The verification rail is live and metered at the rate below, free tier included. The Proof of Model gateway is still in build, so its price is what it will cost when it ships, not something you can buy today.

the four rails

  1. verifications

$0.05 each. One attestation document adjudicated, or one attested-inference receipt minted through the API. The first 1,000 a month are free. A fail bills exactly like a pass — you are paying for the adjudication, not for the answer you wanted.

  2. anchored archive

$99 per seller, per month. Unlimited receipts sealed into the daily public checkpoint, the watch that tells you the day a pinned digest changes, and the dispute-evidence pack. Anchoring is batched, so the marginal cost of one more receipt is near zero — which is why this is flat and not per receipt. Request an invoice.

  3. gateway, per call

passthrough + $0.001. Exact parity with what the x402 rail itself charges to settle, so the gateway runs at cost by design. The receipt is included and never billed per call. At the $1 band the fee is under a tenth of a percent of the payment. In build.

  4. offline verification

free, permanently. The SDK, the pcr0 CLI, the published keyset, and the page on this site. No account, no key, no call to us. This is the half we never charge for, including for people who will never be customers — which is the only way “your counterparty can check it” is a true sentence.

what a month of verifications costs

The free tier and the per-call rate above, applied to a volume you type. Offline verification is not in this sum — it is free. The archive is flat and the gateway is still in build, so neither is in this sum either.

1,000 verifications this month: $0.00 (the free tier). 2,000: $50.00. Offline verify is not in those numbers.

the founding rate

The first 20 sellers pay $49 a month for the anchored archive instead of $99, and that rate is locked for as long as they stay subscribed. Seat 21 pays list.

No founding seats have been taken yet — all 20 are open as of 11 August 2026. That figure is the real subscription count on the date shown, not a countdown, and it moves only when a seat actually moves.

Request an invoice for a founding seat.

how you pay

self-serve

x402 prepaid credits

One settlement buys many credits, so the rail fee amortizes to nearly nothing against what you spend. Machine-payable, which is the point: an agent can top up without a human opening a billing page.

invoiced

Card or ACH

Write to billing@scytalex.com and we send an invoice from Scytalex directly, payable by card or bank transfer. Right for the archive subscription and for anyone whose finance team needs a document rather than a receipt.

Both paths are ours end to end. There is no payment processor, no billing SaaS and no third-party checkout anywhere in this — and no reseller taking a cut, which is why the rates above are the rates.
